How to Stay Passionate in Graphic Design: Insights from a Non-Graduate
Introduction
Hi everyone,
I'm excited to share my journey and thoughts on graphic design on this platform. My English might not be perfect, so your feedback and suggestions are always welcome.
About me, I am a graphic designer with 3 years of experience. Before graphic designing, I was a security guard. I live a busy but fulfilling life with my wife and two kids, and I often find myself sketching in my free time. Once, a person saw my sketches and encouraged me to learn Photoshop. That was the turning point in my career. With determination, I started learning and soon secured a job in an MNC. It wasn't easy, as my designs were rejected many times, but I never gave up. Now, I work in a respected company, using software like Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, and After Effects.
The Importance of Passion and Commitment
If you have the passion to become a graphic designer, then you can achieve it. Design is an art and an expression of creativity. To climb to the top, you need to consistently improve and remain dedicated. You should not expect to be an expert from the very beginning. The difference between a mediocre designer and an outstanding one is often a matter of time and effort. The key is to keep learning, practicing, and refining your skills.
Challenges and Persistence
Like many others, I faced numerous challenges. I wasn't a computer expert when I started. I didn't even know about the D drive! However, I decided to dive into graphic design with full commitment. My designs were often rejected, but I didn't quit. Instead, I used each setback as a learning opportunity. Slowly, I improved my skills and gradually became better at what I do.
I genuinely believe that with hard work and determination, you can succeed. The road might be long, and you might face temporary setbacks, but persistence is key. You'll look back at your journey and be grateful for the efforts you made. Keep on creating, keep on practicing, and keep on learning. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Leonardo da Vinci's art. Consistent effort over time will lead to success.
Final Words of Encouragement
Don't be disheartened if you feel fumbling or uncertain. You have the potential to become a great graphic designer, and if you love what you do, you will eventually find your way. Action is the only word that matters. Keep pushing your limits, and don't hesitate to ask for help or guidance. If you believe in yourself and stay true to your passion, you will get there eventually.
Conclusion
Graphic design is a rewarding career that requires passion, dedication, and persistence. If you are like me, and you find joy in this field, keep going. Remember to appreciate your progress and stay motivated. With time, effort, and continuous learning, you will achieve your goals.
Thank you for reading, and all the best on your journey!
