Exploring the Best Digital Artworks in My Portfolio
Exploring the Best Digital Artworks in My Portfolio
As a digital painting enthusiast, my journey has been a series of leaps and iterations. While digital art can be a subjective medium, I aim to share my best works that have challenged me and significantly improved my skills over the years.
My Digital Painting Journey
My affinity for digital painting began over six to seven years ago. During this time, I have experimented with various techniques and technologies. Even though my creations appear to be traditional paintings when printed, they are fundamentally digital in nature. The beauty of digital art lies in its versatility and the unique possibilities it offers that go beyond traditional mediums.
Before diving into digital art, I recall my early days in the late 1980s when I used an early computer and a pen tool to create graphics. The process was painstaking, yet it laid the foundation for my understanding of digital design. Over the years, I have worked with electronic graphics in a focused manner, honing my skills and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved.
Challenging and Transformative Works
While there are numerous special artworks in my portfolio, I am particularly proud of those that have pushed me to improve as an artist. Here are a few examples:
Sea Side Foggy Mountain Range
This piece was created in Microsoft Excel, showcasing the potential of seemingly simple tools. I endeavored to capture the mist-covered mountain range and its surrounding coast. Although Excel is not typically used for such tasks, the result was a unique and visually compelling artwork.
Sunset View from Behind Skyscrapers
Another innovative work, this piece was a challenge in itself, combining urban landscapes with the warm hues of a setting sun. The contrast between the towering skyscrapers and the soft, glowing sky created a striking visual effect.
Other Notable Works
During my college days, I experimented with AutoCAD, a software primarily used for technical drawing. Though these works may not be considered the best by today's standards, they represent a milestone in my journey. As a first-year student, the fact that I could create something new and amazing in such a short time was a significant accomplishment.
Conclusion
While the term "paintings" is often used for these digital creations, it is important to recognize the fundamental difference between traditional and digital media. The evolution of digital art is akin to the progression from fresco to oil painting, where the substrate and medium have evolved from a permanent surface to a more adaptable and portable format.
Throughout my journey, I have continued to learn and grow, hoping to explore new horizons and push the boundaries of digital art. If you are interested in learning more about my work, be sure to check out my Quora Profile, where I share insights and experiences.
Note: The "best" works are yet to be determined, as the world of digital art is continually evolving. Nonetheless, these creations have been pivotal in my development as a visual artist.
