My Daily Food Dilemmas and Choices
My Daily Food Dilemmas and Choices
Right now it’s just after midnight and I’m chowing on 6 biscuits of Weet Bix with a scoop of whey protein and lite milk. I’m usually sleeping at this time. It’s a unique combination, but it helps me feel full until morning.
Eating What I Crave
I love my food, and it’s not just for breakfast or dinner. In fact, I often indulge in whatever I want. As I mentioned earlier, I have been craving an Oreo Boba tea since last week. It’s so good that it justifies the occasional splurge in my diet.
Healthy Choices
While I do indulge, I try to make healthier choices as well. For example, my breakfast was a bit on the heavier side with a carb-rich dosa and tomato coconut chutney. However, for lunch, I made sure to include kodo millet and green gram in a Palak millet Khichdi, along with a hardboiled egg. This ensures I get a good balance of nutrients.
Busy Weeks and Fast Days
Yesterday, my breakfast was light - just a cup of black coffee and soaked almonds. Due to the busy workload at my office, I didn’t make lunch and just ended up ordering a Masala Rice and Chicken Butter Masala bowl from Swiggy for Rs 169. It was a treat, but not the healthiest option. I needed to enjoy it, and it was indeed flavorful, which made the experience worthwhile.
On days when I am on a 2-day fast, I often take advantage of the 2 pizzas buy 1 get 1 free offer when available. After breaking my fast, I enjoy a few potato chilli shots with mayo dip. It’s a satisfying way to rehydrate and refuel after such a strict regimen.
Endings with Pakode and Tea
My all-time favorite is pakode with tea. It’s a simple yet comforting meal that almost always hits the spot after a tiring day.
