Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Presentation
Google Slides offers a user-friendly interface that allows you to create professional presentations with ease. Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Open Google Slides
Begin by accessing Google Drive. Click the blue New button on the left side of the page. Select the Google Slides option, and for more options, hover over the arrow on the right edge of the Google Slides option where a smaller drop-down menu will appear. Here, you can choose to create a presentation from a template or a blank slide.
Step 2: Create a New Slide
If you are already on the Slides page, select an option from the top of the page to create a new slide. Click the small x button to create a default title and body slide. For different structures, click the down arrow next to it for a large drop-down menu of various layouts.
Step 3: Add a Title and Subtitle
Be sure to name your slide and select a theme. This demonstration will use the 'Be sure to add a title and subtitle by clicking where you are prompted to add text.

To add animations, click on the animation icon (it looks like a speech bubble with a plus sign) on the right side of the screen. Right-click the text or picture you want to animate, navigate to the bottom of the drop-down menu, and select 'Animate.' Here, you can choose default animations like 'Fade in' or 'Slide in,' and set the animation to occur automatically or manually upon click. You can also animate by paragraph, adjusting the speed of each animation by dragging the bar.

To change the transition from one slide to another, click on the triangle icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. Here, you can select different transition types like 'Fade,' 'Push,' 'Inflate,' etc.
Step 9: Preview Your Animations
Preview your animations by clicking 'Play' at the bottom of the sidebar. You can also remove animations by clicking the small 'x' on the rectangle and change the order by dragging each animation up or down.

When you are done editing, press the 'Share' button to edit permissions for your presentation. Search for people you want to share it with by their names or email addresses and edit permissions by clicking the pencil icon next to it. They can be set to view, edit, or comment on your presentation. The 'Share' button also provides your unique presentation link which you can access by clicking 'Link' in the same menu.

To view the finished product, simply click the green checkmark at the top right corner of the screen. Use the arrow keys or navigate arrows at the bottom of the screen to flip through slides. Features like the laser pointer, fullscreen mode, and settings can be accessed from the bottom bar. Additionally, you can turn on presenter view, allowing you to accept audience questions and view speaker notes.
